Our Process
Every job runs in four steps: a free in-home estimate, a digital template once cabinets are set, fabrication in our Houston shop, and install. At install we set the tops, bond the seams, set the sink, drill the faucet holes and seal granite and marble; your plumber reconnects the sink and faucet.
Below, each step says what happens, who needs to be home and what has to be ready before we arrive. One crew handles all four, so the person who answers your questions on template day works for the same shop that sets your tops.
Estimate
We start with a free in-home estimate. We come to your kitchen or bathroom, look at your cabinets, measure the space, and talk through material options in person, with samples we bring along. If you have photos or rough dimensions ready, send them with the estimate form first and we will come prepared to talk specifics rather than start from scratch. This is also when we talk through sink type, edge profile and any special details like a waterfall island or a fireplace surround, and when we schedule your template visit. For a commercial or multifamily job, this same visit covers a walkthrough of the space and a conversation about your schedule. If you already know your material, bring any questions about edge profiles and sinks to this visit too, so those decisions are settled before we template.
Template
Once you have picked a slab, we come back and take a digital template of the space. This happens after cabinets are set and level, since we are measuring the actual boxes in your home, not a drawing. Someone should be home for the template visit to confirm sink and faucet placement, walk through any last details, and answer questions about outlet or window cutouts. The digital template becomes the exact pattern our shop cuts your slab to, down to the sink cutout and every corner. Template usually takes under an hour for a single kitchen or bathroom, longer for a larger space or a job with several rooms.
Fabricate
Your slab goes to our shop, where we cut it to the template, cut the sink and cooktop openings, finish the edges to the profile you chose, and polish the stone. Your install date is scheduled once the pieces are cut and finished. If a slab shows an issue during cutting that was not visible when you picked it, we call before fabrication continues rather than install a piece you have not approved.
Install
On install day, our crew sets the finished tops in place, sets the sink, drills the faucet holes, and runs any seams with a color-matched epoxy so they sit flush and tight. On natural stone, we apply a sealer before we leave. We clean up the work area and haul away any packaging or scrap before we go. Someone should be home for the full install visit, since we will walk you through the finished counter, point out the seam locations, and answer any care questions before we leave. Your plumber installs the faucet and reconnects the plumbing after we set the sink, so book that visit close behind ours, and if you have an old top coming out first, our tear-out and haul-away happens at the start of the install visit.
